Christ once said that it was easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of heaven.
The story behind that is the “Eye of a Needle” was a night gate into the city. Now there are places on the web that say this gate didn’t exist in reality. I don’t care if the story is true or not, it’s a great story.
As the story goes, travelers would come to the city, oftentimes at night, their camels laden with their belongings, their goods to sell, and whatever else they may need. The Eye of A Needle was so fashioned that only a camel, without any of its burdens and on it’s knees could crawl through this gate.
Naked Camels
Basically we’re talking a naked camel here.
A man could walk through unburdened and then all of his goods, once searched, would be allowed through as well. Once on the other side, all that was his, would be returned to him.
The reasoning behind this was that it took far less men to guard a gate such as this. No terrorist or planner of evil deeds would welcome the “strip-down,” to get into the city and only those of honest intent would even bother.
The religious take on this is that a man must humble himself before God, let go of all of his riches and come to God on bended knee. It was believed that most rich men couldn’t do this.
Personally, I don’t subscribe to that view.
The Law of Attraction
One of the things I’ve learned with using the law of attraction is exactly what Marci Shirmoff says, author of Happy for No Reason, “there are three steps to using the law of attraction…
- Intention
- Attention
- No Tension
And most people have trouble with No. 3 – No Tension.”
This reminds me of the Eye of A Needle.
When we “lay down our burdens,” as Oma Desala says in the Stargate series, “we can become enlightened.”
It’s A Catch-22
You see – it’s not that you can’t have things, money, cars, houses, toys – it’s your attachment to them that causes your suffering. The idea is to approach everything in life as if you were going through the Eye of a Needle. In truth you’re born into this world naked with nothing other than your being, so what’s the big deal?
Everything that you see around you is a collective or an individual form of manifesting – it’s just energy – energy that has taken the form of whatever is Intended with focused Attention without Tension. It’s a huge Catch-22. To get what you want in life you must go through the Eye of a Needle and more than once, I guarantee that from personal experience, without attachment to anything. Once through, you get everything back. This will happen over and over and over again.
In order to be in the place of more money, a better house or a better car in your outer reality, you MUST FEEL as if you have that on the INNER reality with a sense of detachment that says, I’m happy just the way I am, with or without it, again the Eye of the Needle thing.
Everything is Created Inside Out NOT Outside In!
Since everything is created from the inside out and NOT the outside in, you must first BE that which you desire. And you must not be attached to it. Why bother anyway – since YOU are the creator – you can re-create whatever it is you don’t have!
Then why is it so hard for people to do? It isn’t! They do it all the time. But what they’re creating is EXACTLY where their ATTENTION is – on LACK. Not enough money, a car that doesn’t work, a job they hate and on and on and on.
As long as you keep your head focused on what you don’t have, you’re not walking through the Eye of A Needle.
You’re acting from the place of being attached to everything YOU DON’T HAVE and that’s exactly why you DON’T HAVE IT!
It is really so simple and yet we keep tripping ourselves up!
There really is truth in Letting Go and Letting God. She will always bring you that which you desire or something better once you learn to let go.
If you’ve got a problem with that, just imagine a Naked Camel.
