The old English meaning of the word, WEALTH, means to Be Well. In thoroughly modern times, that has translated into meaning having great hoards of cash, a fancy house or two, a home theatre system, a fancy car, and whatever else in material goods meets the fancy.

Today it seems as if more and more people are into get rich schemes without any effort on their part, thinking that money solves all their problems. Money solves money problems and that’s it. And sometimes not even those!

True wealth consists of being happy, healthy, feeling successful and fulfilled, maintaining and enjoying loving supportive relationships, finding uplifting and satisfying work as well as having our desires and needs met and enjoying life to the fullest. If you can say these things are in your life – you are wealthy!

Money can accompany true wealth, but it is not the be-all, end-all goal in and of itself. We are on a journey of discovering and becoming more of who we are: divine children of the Universe. While the movie The Secret talks about some of the basic tenets of the law of attraction, it doesn’t really provide a deep understanding of how it works.

A lot of people think that if they just have positive thoughts, ask for the desires and wait around for them, it will come true. Wrong! Action is required on your part – but the right kind of action – inspired action. When that little voice speaks, follow its instruction. And if you focus on the positive and resist the negative this will ensure more of the negative in your life. Focus rather on the positive the negative frames. Acknowledge and bless the negative; be grateful for it, because without it there would be no contrast and no frame for the positive.

We live life in a physical reality that is comprised of both positive and negative. Yin and Yang. The very nature of our planet requires the joining of these opposites to create a whole. Without the womb (the negative space) there would be no place for the seed (the positive space) to grow. By focusing on just the positive and ignoring and or resisting the negative, you’re setting yourself up for failure.

Have gratitude for all that is in your life – don’t separate yourself into compartments. Whether you are at work, play, or out on the town, it’s still your life. It’s all you and your thoughts twenty-four seven no matter where you are or what you are doing – so when we learn to be grateful all the time, for everything, more of the positive can flow to you.
