I’m a child of the 50′s. I grew up all over San Diego County, but when I was younger, we used to hang out at Wind n’ Sea. This is a surfer beach in La Jolla. I was just a kid and I remember when the grown-ups used to take a huge steel washtub and fill it full of sliced fruit, seven-up, wine and ice. It looked very much like something I wanted to try, but alas, as a child, we weren’t allowed. What was this magical elixir that only grown-ups could drink?
