You Are What You Think

Yep.  That’s right.  You are what you think.  It used to be “you are what you eat.”  In a physical sense that’s still true but think of it like this:  the real food for our bodies comes from our thoughts.

Your central nervous system is a major freeway zone connected through your spinal cord from the brain to the body.  Thoughts occur in your head every day, say about 60,000 of them – but those thoughts you embrace emotionally – become chemically transmuted through your central nervous system and are experienced in the body as a feeling.  That feeling is then experienced as an emotion.  And you know what happens next – once you feel something and emote it, your mouth jumps in with both feet and has to tell the world.  Your word is the command that brings you your wishes.

Through these simple events you have now set up a circumstance or event in motion towards you in a manner that you can experience it.  The manner that you can experience it is relative to what your belief system allows.

Interestingly enough I’ve learned that what I think about, feel and say, I either become or experience one way or another.  I’ve really learned this the hard way.

On certain days I feel like I’m looking good and the mirror tells me that.  On other days I feel fat and boy does the mirror tell me that too.  Has there been a change in weight?  Not really.  But remember that perception is reality. You create your experience.

If you feel as if you’re having a bad day – you are – especially since  you’ve voiced it.  It’s a never-ending circle that spirals down into a rut if you’re not careful.

The trick is to focus your thoughts elsewhere.  Just change your mind!  Focus on the cool mountain spring or the high alpine meadow where the butterflies flicker from flower to bush and back again.  Or focus on a favorite thing or event.  Your body will warm with the feeling; your spirits will lift and you will begin to voice positive virtuous things into the world.

Here’s my special thought for you today:  Honor yourself as the divine child of the universe you are.  Know that you are blessed.  Know that all is well, all is truly well.  You’re breathing aren’t you?
